At LilSense, we take your family's privacy seriously. We've designed our app from the ground up to collect only what's necessary and to keep your data secure. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information We Collect

Account Information

Email address (for account creation and login)
Password (encrypted, we never see it)

Baby Profile Information

Baby's name (optional, for personalization)
Baby's age range (not exact birth date)
Feeding method preference

Event Data

Feeding events (time, type, duration, amount)
Sleep events (start time, end time)
Diaper changes (time, type)
Growth measurements (optional)
Medication logs (optional)

How We Use Your Information

To provide the core functionality of the app (tracking and predictions)
To learn your baby's patterns and improve prediction accuracy
To sync data across your devices
To share data with partners you explicitly invite (coming soon)
To send important account-related communications

Pattern Learning & Predictions

LilSense uses statistical pattern analysis (exponential smoothing) combined with WHO and CDC population data to learn your baby's routines and generate predictions (currently in beta). Here's how it works:

We analyze your logged events (feeds, sleep, diapers) to identify patterns in timing, duration, and frequency
Pattern analysis is combined with evidence-based data from WHO guidelines and CDC recommendations
Predictions are generated for your baby only and are not shared with other users
Your baby's data is never used to train models for other users or third parties
Predictions are for informational purposes only — LilSense is not a medical device
You can disable predictions at any time from Settings

Data Storage & Security

Data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL) with encryption at rest
All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
Row-level security ensures you can only access your own data
We do not sell your data to third parties
We do not use your data for advertising

Data Retention

By default, event data is retained for 90 days to enable pattern analysis and predictions. Premium subscribers have access to unlimited history. You can:

Export all your data at any time from Settings
Delete all your data at any time from Settings
Request complete account deletion by contacting us

COPPA Compliance

LilSense is designed for parents and caregivers, not children. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):

The app is intended for adults (parents/caregivers)
We collect information about babies, not from babies
Parents have full control over their baby's data

Partner Sharing (Coming Soon)

We are building partner sharing. When available, inviting a partner to share your baby's profile will work as follows:

They will be able to view and add events for your baby
They will not be able to delete your account or baby profile
You will be able to revoke their access at any time
Sharing will require explicit invitation via code

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your data (export from Settings)
Delete your data (from Settings or by contacting us)
Correct inaccurate information
Withdraw consent at any time
Request information about how your data is used

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of LilSense after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
